A Model Y may look like a taller Model 3, and a Model X may share much of its engineering with a Model S. That does not mean every repair part swaps over. For shops, rebuilders, and Tesla owners asking which Tesla models share parts, the useful answer is based on platform, production date, drivetrain, and the part number on the vehicle - not appearance alone.
Tesla changes components frequently, sometimes within the same model year. A bumper cover can have a different sensor provision, a headlight can use a revised connector, and a suspension component can carry an updated part number while looking nearly identical. Which Tesla Models Share Parts Most Often?

Model S and Model X also share significant engineering, particularly within similar production eras. However, this pair has one major complication: both models went through meaningful refreshes and running revisions.
The 2021-and-newer refreshed Model S and Model X vehicles are not simply interchangeable with earlier versions. A part pulled from a 2017 Model S may physically resemble a part for a 2022 Model X but still be wrong for the repair.
